Eco-friendly
Our commitment to sustainability
At the Flower Barn, we believe luxury doesn’t have to cost the earth.
When we converted our beautiful stable block, we made sure every decision balanced comfort with care for the environment.
From the way we renovated the building to how we run it today, sustainability is at the heart of everything we do.
It’s not about big gestures. It’s about all the small, thoughtful choices that add up to make a real difference.
Best of both worlds
Our building’s story
The Flower Barn started life as a traditional stable block.
Instead of building new, we chose to breathe fresh life into this beautiful old building. We wanted to keep all the character while making it as energy efficient as possible.
We added high-level insulation throughout, making sure the thick walls keep you cosy in winter and cool in summer without wasting energy.
Every room has energy-efficient appliances, from the kitchen’s modern induction hob to the efficient heating systems. We’ve kept original features where we can, adding modern technology where it counts.
It’s all about finding the perfect balance between preserving the past and protecting the future.
Reducing our footprint
Energy & resources
We’re always looking for ways to reduce our energy use without compromising on comfort. All our appliances are chosen for their energy efficiency ratings, helping us keep our carbon footprint down. When it’s time to get cosy, our wood burners use responsibly sourced local firewood. We know where each log comes from.
We’ve also thought carefully about every aspect of how we use resources. From LED lighting throughout to water-saving features in our bathrooms, every small saving adds up. It’s about being smart with what we use while making sure you have everything you need for a comfortable stay.

Our working flower farm
The flower farm is where our commitment to sustainability really blooms.
We only grow seasonal British flowers, working with nature’s rhythm instead of against it. Our rainwater harvesting system catches what we need for the flowers, reducing our reliance on mains water.
We’re creating a haven for local wildlife, too. Every season, we plant more ornamental shrubs and trees, providing food and shelter for birds, bees and butterflies. Our composting system turns garden and food waste into rich soil for next year’s flowers. It’s a continuous cycle that keeps our little corner of Worcestershire thriving.
A circular economy
Waste & recycling
We make it easy for everyone to do their bit during their stay. You’ll find recycling bins throughout The Flower Barn, clearly labelled so you know what goes where. All recyclable waste, from glass and paper to plastics and metals, is sorted and processed correctly.
In the kitchen and gardens, our composting system turns suitable waste into nutrients for our flowers.
And we’re always looking for ways to reduce single-use items, choosing sustainable alternatives wherever we can.
Looking after tomorrow
Planning for a sustainable future
We’re not standing still. We’re constantly exploring new ways to make The Flower Barn even more sustainable.
From investigating solar power options to expanding our wildlife areas, we’ve got exciting plans for the future.
We believe small improvements add up to big changes over time, so we’re always looking for our next opportunity to do better.
